my past life! historical assignment.

There was once a guy who had big eyes, long hair and a charming smile. He believed that when the people are in need of help, he should be there for them. He was renowned for his bravery and martial arts skill. He was none other than Ho Nam. His brother was stabbed 13 times in the chest by a group of cold-blooded guys. He was frustrated and he had nobody in life anymore he felt lonely as his brother was his only kin in the world. He made up his mind to assassinate the leader of the group. He was wanted by them thus he had no choice but to leave his hometown in mainland China and go to Singapore an island where people claimed to be peaceful. He was desired to seek a better life and start afresh.

The journey to Singapore took about not one or two days but five days as he was travelling on seawaters. During the journey everyone was cramped in a small compartment on the ship but the people had no choice but to just endure the 5 days. As soon as the ship docked by the harbour, you could see the smiles and relief on the peoples face. Ho Nam got his stuff and left the harbour. He saw many different races of people which were the Chinese, Malays, Indians and the Eurasians. He was amazed by how the people were able to communicate with one another despite their different races. As he was walking around observing how the people live and work. There were many street stalls compromising of mostly food from all different races. There were coolies.

Out of a sudden he bumped into an old man carrying two huge bags of bowls. The man had a great fall on his back.Ho Nam was worried and helped him up, out of a sympathy he offered to help the old man carry his goods to the old man's destination. On their way they both talked about where they were from as both were not locals. Although it’s their first time meeting up they talked as if they had been friends for over a decade. The old man knew Ho Nam had not settled down in a place yet as he was still carrying his luggage, so the old man offered him a place in his house.

When they both reached the old man’s house Ho Nam let out a sigh of relief as he finally had settled down. From there on Ho Nam treated the old man as one of his family members. The old man sold fish ball noodles on the streets and offered Ho Nam the job with pay. Ho Nam was thus grateful that the old man offered a place in his house and a job. He soon got used to the lifestyle in Singapore.

On July 21 thousands of Malays gathered at the Padang to celebrate the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday. After the speeches, the processions went on to Geylang. Ho Nam was there too as he was curious. Suddenly he saw a group of Malays quarrelling with a police officer; he soon came to know that the police officer just wanted them to rejoin the group which they earlier had dispersed. Suddenly he heard a loud bang in the. To his horror, he saw the group of Malays whacking the officer even though he was shot dead and they went on to beat those Chinese around. He went over to stop the group. As soon as he went over a huge group of Chinese came over and started to fight with the Malays. Ho Nam did not what to do but just stood there and witness the awful sight. The police sprayed tear gas to disperse the crowd. However Ho Nam felt that the problem should be solved as soon as possible if not there would be another such case to happen again. He gathered a group of Malays and a group of Chinese to persuade the rioters to stop all the fighting. He went around spreading peace and harmony. He urge everyone to co-operate and together make Singapore a pleasant place to live in.
The police gave him an award for the effort he had put in to make Singapore once again a nice play to live in. The moral of the story is that one should not fight but instead help one another..
